Modern Elegance and Fashion-Led Wedding Inspiration at Wynyard Hall

VIB + VARSHA

This Wynyard Hall editorial, created as part of a styled workshop by Velvet and Linen, was a brilliant opportunity to work with Vib and Varsha and create something refined, polished and a little more fashion-led.

Although I’d only met them briefly on the day, they were both incredibly easy to work with. Varsha had such a natural presence in front of the camera, taking direction beautifully while also bringing her own movement and expression to the portraits. Vib was just as strong, especially later in the day when we created a set of groom portraits in the library using that beautiful soft window light.

The day began with details from The Orchid Kitchen, whose cakes and styling helped set the tone for the shoot. From there, we moved into bridal preparation portraits with Varsha in one of Wynyard Hall’s suites. The space worked perfectly, elegant, clean and full of natural light, giving the images a calm, editorial feel.

Later, I photographed Vib in the library, which is one of my favourite spaces at Wynyard Hall. The dark tones, historic character and directional window light gave the portraits a really rich atmosphere. It’s not all about one half of the couple, and those quieter, more considered portraits can add so much depth to a gallery.

The tablescape by Pear Tree Lane Styling was another standout part of the day. The detailing was beautiful, with layers of texture, elegant styling and oyster candles that brought a really chic, distinctive feel to the setup. Vib and Varsha then came back into the main conservatory to see the space and create a few portraits around the table design.

At one point, I also gave myself a quick five-minute challenge to create a strong set of portraits with Vib and Varsha in as little time as possible. It was a nice reminder that beautiful images don’t always need huge amounts of time, just good light, a strong setting, and a couple who are happy to trust the process.

It’s important to say that these images were created at a styled workshop, not a real wedding. The setting was more controlled, the styling had been carefully planned, and there was more time for direction than I’d usually take during a wedding day.

That said, the images are a strong example of what can be created when the right venue, styling, light and approach come together.

Most of my real wedding work is relaxed and documentary-led, with portraits kept natural, easy and never overdone. But if you’re planning a wedding at Wynyard Hall and love the idea of honest storytelling with a more editorial edge, this venue lends itself beautifully to that balance.

Below are some of my favourite images from Vib and Varsha’s Wynyard Hall editorial shoot.
