I create honest, narrative-led wedding imagery with an editorial eye, photographs that feel effortless, emotional, and deeply personal. My approach is rooted in observation, blending documentary storytelling with intentional composition, beautiful light, and thoughtful detail.

My Approach
I’m not here to turn your wedding into a full-blown photo shoot or pull you away from the people around you for hours at a time. The best moments rarely happen on command. They unfold naturally, in the in-between spaces, the nervous excitement in the morning, your dad quietly holding back tears during the ceremony, friends losing themselves on the dance floor long after sunset.
At the same time, I’m drawn to the artistry of a wedding day. The movement of a dress, the texture of lace sleeves catching the light, the atmosphere of a candlelit room, the architecture of a venue, the way people connect within a space. Those details matter just as much as the big moments because they shape how the day felt to be there.
My role is to stay present, respond instinctively, and create imagery that feels elevated without losing its authenticity. Honest moments, captured with intention.
After more than a decade photographing 350+ weddings across the UK and Europe, I’ve learned that experience changes everything. Timelines drift, weather changes, light disappears unexpectedly, and emotions run high. Knowing when to step in and help, and when to quietly step back, is what allows a wedding day to feel relaxed while still creating beautiful, considered imagery throughout.
"Ray is perhaps the best find of our entire wedding. He fitted in like one of the guests with a fantastic sense of humour and such a beautiful attention to detail. The photos are incredible showing each emotion of the whole day - even the questionable dance moves at night. Thank you Ray for making it so perfect - the BEST UK wedding photographer hands down."
A Few Things About Me
Hey, I’m Raymond, feel free to call me Ray, everyone does, I’m a wedding photographer, husband, dad, film lover, and professional treat-giver to Daisy, our cockapoo.
I live in Durham with my wife Bee and our two kids, Elodie and Tobias. I’ve been photographing weddings since 2015. In that time, I’ve documented more than 350 weddings, received over 150 awards, and worked everywhere from private homes to some of the UK’s most exclusive venues such as Euridge Manor, Middleton Lodge and Saltmarshe Hall.
Most couples describe me as “a friend at the wedding with expensive gear,” which honestly sums up how I want the experience to feel. Relaxed, easy-going, and natural. I care just as much about how the day feels while it’s happening as I do about the final photographs themselves.
Outside of weddings, I’m probably watching a film by Christopher Nolan, Spielberg, or Zack Snyder, listening to musicals far too loudly, or throwing some darts in my office. Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, The Greatest Showman, and pretty much anything Disney are all weaknesses of mine. There’s also a very strong chance I’ll reference RuPaul’s Drag Race at some point during the wedding day. Love me some RuPaul haha.
If you’re looking for perfectly staged, heavily directed wedding photography, I’m probably not the right fit. But if you want someone who will blend into the day, bring good energy, keep things relaxed, and create imagery that feels honest, elevated, and full of life, we’ll probably get along just fine.
