Greece Wedding Photographer

Yassas
There are few places in the world that feel quite as naturally made for a destination wedding as Greece. The light, the sea, the whitewashed buildings, the slower pace, the food, the warmth, the feeling of being somewhere completely away from everyday life. It is easy to see why so many couples dream of getting married there.
Whether you’re planning an intimate wedding overlooking the caldera in Santorini, a relaxed island wedding in Mykonos, a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Crete, or a long table dinner with your closest people somewhere quiet, sun-soaked and full of atmosphere, Greece has that rare ability to make a wedding feel both effortless and unforgettable.
One of the things I love most about the idea of photographing weddings in Greece is the quality of the light. Bright, clean mornings, deep blue water, soft golden evenings and those warm, cinematic tones that seem to suit wedding photography so beautifully. From coastal venues and private villas to old villages, olive groves, chapels and cliffside views, Greece offers the kind of setting that naturally adds atmosphere without needing anything to feel overly staged.
My approach is simple. I’m there to document the real story of your wedding, naturally and calmly, with an editorial eye for light, composition and the feeling of the place. After more than a decade photographing weddings across the UK, I’m now taking on a small number of destination weddings each year, especially in places like Greece, where the setting, energy and emotion all come together so beautifully.
So, if you’re planning a wedding in Greece and looking for a Greece wedding photographer, I’d love to hear what you’re planning.

NARRATIVE-LED GREECE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

My approach to weddings in Greece
Destination weddings in Greece are rarely just about the wedding day itself. They usually begin before the ceremony, when everyone arrives, settles in, has a drink, hugs people they haven’t seen for ages, and the whole thing starts to feel real. That is why my destination coverage is built around the full experience, not just a few hours on the wedding day.
I’ll usually arrive ahead of the welcome drinks, giving me time to settle in, get a feel for the location, understand the light, and make sure there is breathing room around travel. I’m not flying in at the last minute with fingers crossed. I want to arrive properly, see how the venue works, and understand the rhythm of the place before the wedding begins.
On the wedding day itself, my approach is simple, it’s a wedding, not a photoshoot. I’ll step in when needed, keep portraits relaxed, make the most of the Greek light and scenery, but never take over the day. The setting is already beautiful. My job is to document the people, the atmosphere, the emotion and the feeling of everyone being together somewhere unforgettable.

The full destination story
The welcome drinks are often one of the best parts of a destination wedding. Everyone is excited, slightly emotional, usually a little chaotic, and finally together in one place. I’ll photograph that for 1–2 hours, capturing the start of the story, the setting, the outfits, the anticipation, the hugs, the drinks, and all the little moments that make the wedding feel bigger than the schedule.
For the wedding day, I’ll be there from a few hours before the ceremony until late into the evening, and into the early hours if needed. I don’t work to a strict “first dance and gone” approach for destination weddings. The evening is often when everything really comes alive, so I stay until the story feels properly told.
The day after can be just as important. A pool party, relaxed lunch, beach gathering or a few drinks by the villa often has a completely different energy. The pressure has gone, everyone is laughing about the night before, sunglasses are on, drinks are out, and someone is probably ending up in the pool. I’ll usually cover this for 1–2 hours as the final part of the story before everyone heads home.
£3,500 // for wedding day coverage only. I’ll arrive the day before, photograph the wedding itself, and travel home the following day.
£5,000 // for the full wedding experience, welcome drinks, wedding day and pool party covered + two travel days.

"Ray is perhaps the best find of our entire wedding. He fitted in like one of the guests with a fantastic sense of humour and such a beautiful attention to detail. The photos are incredible showing each emotion of the whole day - even the questionable dance moves at night. Thank you Ray for making it so perfect - the BEST UK wedding photographer hands down."
